Pole wear questions
These pieces were made for circus, but their short, cheeky cut works brilliantly on the pole too. Tops and shorts both have a thick, sturdy 3cm elastic band that holds everything in place without cutting in, so it stays put upside down. The Bubble Ruffle™ hangs loose and free, and looks just as good upside down as the right way up (also excellent for twerking, just saying). Created by founder Jessica Doolin, a former circus performer who couldn't find training kit she wanted, so she made her own. Designed in Ireland, handmade in small batches and shipped worldwide.
Two of our Bubble Bum Banter guests came to circus through pole: read Aino Emilia, an aerial and pole instructor, and Aisling Ní Cheallaigh, who started on pole before finding the hoop.
What should I wear to pole class?
Short shorts and a fitted top. Your skin does the gripping, so you want your legs, waist and arms free to touch the pole. Skip body lotion on class day too. Our circus sets are short and fitted, which is exactly what pole needs.
Is cotton good for pole?
Yes. Our stretch cotton is 95% cotton and 5% elastane, so it's soft, breathable and holds its shape while you move. No fabric grips the pole (bare skin does that job), so the short cut matters more than the material.
Do the sets stay put upside down?
Yes. Tops and shorts both have a thick, sturdy 3cm elastic band, so they hold in place without cutting in. The stretch fabric moves with you instead of sliding around, and the Bubble Ruffle™ hangs free, so it looks just as good upside down as the right way up.
How does sizing work?
Our Size Guide lists bust, waist and hip measurements for every size from XS to 3XL, in centimetres. Measure yourself and pick the size you're closest to. If you're past the halfway point to the next size, size up, because our fit runs fitted rather than loose. Between sizes? Send us a message and we'll help you choose.
Is it made to order or ready to ship?
Both, and each product page tells you which. Made-to-order pieces usually take 2 to 4 weeks to make, plus shipping. Ready-to-ship pieces ordered before 2pm Irish time go out the same business day. Our Shipping and Returns page has the current making time and delivery estimates for every country.
