What is My Bubble Bum?
My Bubble Bum is an Irish circus and festival wear brand founded in 2018 by circus performer Jessica Doolin. It's known for the Bubble Ruffle™, an original ruffle short design created by Jessica and exclusive to the brand, made in soft stretch cotton and stretch velvet. The range also includes two-piece sets and velvet leotards for aerialists, acrobats, dancers and festival goers who want something bolder and more personal than sequinned costumes. Every piece is designed in Ireland and handmade in small batches.
Who is My Bubble Bum for?
My Bubble Bum is made for circus performers and anyone who moves. That includes aerialists on silks, lyra (aerial hoop) and trapeze, acrobats and contortionists, hula hoopers and flow artists, pole dancers, ice skaters and roller skaters, gymnasts and cheerleaders, dancers, and burlesque, cabaret and drag performers. It's also loved by festival goers who want something more alternative than sequins.
Our customers are professional and recreational, from circus school students to touring performers. They wear our leotards, two-piece sets and Bubble Ruffle™ shorts for training, classes, shows, competitions, photoshoots and festivals, and plenty buy them as gifts.
Is My Bubble Bum an Irish brand?
Yes. My Bubble Bum was founded in Ireland in 2018 by Jessica Doolin, and every piece is designed in Ireland.

THE BUBBLE RUFFLE™ AND OUR FABRICS
What is the Bubble Ruffle™?
The Bubble Ruffle™ is My Bubble Bum's signature design, created by founder Jessica Doolin and exclusive to the brand. It's thicker and bouncier than a standard ruffle, cut cheeky and short, and made for hanging upside down, spinning, dancing and festival days.
Can I get Bubble Ruffle™ shorts in velvet?
Yes. The Bubble Ruffle™ comes in soft stretch cotton stripes and in stretch velvet, including foiled and gilded velvets.
What are your pieces made from?
Our stretch cotton pieces are 95% cotton and 5% elastane, so they're soft, breathable and move with you. Our velvet pieces are 90% polyester and 10% spandex stretch velvet, with a richer look than the shiny swim-style fabric most performance wear uses. Some designs use foiled or gilded velvet, which has a metallic finish and needs extra care (see below).
Are your fabrics and designs exclusive?
Yes. Many of our velvets and gilded foils were developed with our textile partners specifically for My Bubble Bum, so they aren't mass produced and you won't find them anywhere else. The Bubble Ruffle™ is also an original My Bubble Bum design. We make our pieces in small batches, and many designs are limited editions that may not return once they sell out.
Can I wear My Bubble Bum for aerial, hoop, pole and skating?
Yes. Every piece is designed by a circus performer to move with you, whether you're upside down on silks, spinning a hoop, on the pole, on the ice or dancing on stage.
SIZING AND ORDERING
How do I choose my size?
Check the size chart on each product page, because sizing varies by design. We size by bust, waist, hips and girth, and some styles come in Regular and Tall lengths. For unitards we also ask for your inside leg and ankle. You'll find all our charts on the Size Charts page. If you're unsure, contact us and we'll help you choose within 24 hours.
What's the difference between ready-to-ship and made-to-order?
Ready-to-ship pieces are already made and go out fast. Made-to-order pieces are made just for you in your size after you order, which helps us avoid waste and overproduction. They usually take 3 to 4 weeks to make, up to 6 weeks in busy periods, before they ship.
Can I design my own?
Yes. With Build-A-Bum™ you choose your own velvet and stripe colours for our Diamond Stripe Leotard or a two-piece set. You can save your design and come back to it when you're ready.
Can you make custom designs?
We accept a limited number of custom orders each month. Please use our Go Custom form and include your measurements, design idea and deadline.
Do you offer kids' sizing?
Yes. Most designs can be made in children's sizes. There's no separate listing for kids' sizes, but contact us through our Go Custom page and we'll guide you through measurements and availability.
Do you restock items?
Most items are made to order. Ready-to-ship pieces are limited, and once they sell out they may not return unless we make another small batch.
Can I cancel my order?
Made-to-order pieces go into production shortly after you order, so please contact us straight away if you need to cancel. Once production has started, the order can't be cancelled.
I need my item urgently. Can you help?
We can offer express production on a very limited basis, depending on our workload. Please contact us to check before ordering.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and the other payment methods shown at checkout.
SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
How fast do ready-to-ship orders go out?
Ready-to-ship orders placed before 2pm (Irish time) on a business day ship the same day. Orders placed after 2pm ship the next business day.
How long will my order take to arrive?
Once dispatched, delivery takes 5 to 25 working days depending on where you are. Made-to-order pieces need 3 to 4 weeks to make first (up to 6 in busy periods). See our Shipping and Returns page for times by region.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. We ship to most countries, and every order goes by tracked courier.
Will I pay customs duties or import taxes?
Not if you're in Europe, the UK, the US or Australia. We ship to these regions Delivered Duties Paid (DDP), so the price at checkout is your final total with nothing extra to pay on delivery. For other countries, local duties and taxes may be charged on arrival and are paid by the customer.
Will Christmas affect delivery?
It can. Couriers get very busy in December, so delivery dates can't be guaranteed. If you have a fixed date or event, order early or choose a ready-to-ship piece.
My tracking isn't updating. What should I do?
Some regions show slow or limited tracking updates. If yours hasn't moved for several days, contact us and we'll request a detailed scan from our delivery partner to find your parcel.
What happens if my parcel gets lost?
Every parcel is fully insured. If the courier confirms it wasn't delivered, we'll send a replacement or a full refund.
RETURNS AND EXCHANGES
Can I return my order?
Ready-to-ship and standard-size made-to-order pieces can be returned within 14 days of delivery if they're unworn, unwashed and have their tags on. Build-A-Bum™ designs and pieces made to your own measurements are made just for you, so they can't be returned unless faulty. Snatch sale items are final sale. Return postage is paid by the customer unless the item is faulty.
What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?
Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We'll look into it and arrange a replacement or refund.
CARING FOR YOUR PIECES
How do I wash my My Bubble Bum pieces?
Wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle or by hand. No tumble dryer, no bleach and no fabric softener. Hang or lay flat to dry.
How do I care for foiled and gilded velvet?
Foiled velvet needs extra love. The metallic foil reacts to chemicals, and contact can change its colour or dull the shine. Keep perfume, hairspray, body sprays, glitter sprays, fake tan, lotions and oils well away from the foil. Rinse by hand in cold water only, with no detergent, fabric softener or bleach, and rinse soon after a sweaty session. Don't wring or rub the fabric; press out the water gently and lay flat to dry. No tumble dryer, iron or direct heat. The foil will soften gradually with wear and washing, which is part of its character. Changes caused by sprays, perfumes or chemicals aren't a fault.
